Pilots Using iPads in the Cockpit

At just one and a half pounds, and a half-inch thin, Apple’s iPad has caused thousands of people to rethink the way they use computers. But you may be surprised; it is causing some pilots to rethink how they fly airplanes every day around the country.

Many pilots are turning to the tablet style computer technology as an easy way to plan and prepare for their flights just as aviation companies and entrepreneurs have quickly developed dozens of iPad applications for pilots to use while in the cockpit.
